Success for Special Olympians

by isleofman.com 29th June 2011

The Manx team has had some great results at the Special Olympics in Athens.

Nicki Wright got a bronze medal in the dressage, and gymnast Paul Clucas went one better with a silver in the floor routine and a bronze in the vault.

There was also a silver for swimmer Emily Davis from Port Erin who came in third in the 25 metres breaststroke, but was upgraded to silver medal position after a competitor was disqualified. It was a first medal for coach Pauline Hully.

The footballers have also had a notable success, beating Haiti 6-0, and now face Italy.
