Manx firms not keen on pier work

by isleofman.com 28th June 2011

There was little interest from Manx firms in gaining contracts for preservation work on Ramsey's Queen's Pier.

Onchan MHK David Quirk told the House of Keys the project team overseeing the work tried to use local companies where possible, but there was little response to invitations.

He said of those that replied, some didn't meet requirements and others were too expensive.

Mr Quirk was replying to questions on behalf of Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne.
