Chief Minister Tony Brown says he is confident his minister for home affairs does have a good understanding of criminal justice legislation he is bringing forward.
Mr Brown was speaking after Adrian Earnshaw faced criticism for apparently admitting he didn't know everything about a bill he was attempting to steer though the House of Keys.
Mr Earnsaw said he didn't need to know all the details as he had officers in the civil service for that.
