Government accused of 'fiscal irresponsibility'

by isleofman.com 28th June 2011

The Isle of Man needs 'a dose of reality'.

That's the belief of Rushen MHK Quintin Gill who will be defending his seat in the House of Keys general election in September.

On Mandate today (Tuesday), Mr Gill said the last two budgets were billed as being the toughest in living memory, but that hadn't proved to be the case, and the Island could now suffer the consequences (listen to audio file below):

With two months to go to nominations day, Mr Gill is one of five people who have declared in the three-seat Rushen constituency.

The others are challengers Laurence Skelly and Adrian Tinkler (LVP), and Phil Gawne and Juan Watterson who, like Mr Gill, will be defending their seats.
