Port Erin man to be treated in Germany

A paralysed Port Erin man has been accepted for pioneering stem cell therapy at a German hospital.

Chris Walmsley was struck by a car on Richmond Hill in 2006 and is now being cared for in a Ballasalla residential home.

His family have been collecting money for the treatment, which would cost nearly ?30,000.

Yesterday (Monday), some of Chris's supporters were locked up in Port Erin police station and raised more than ?1,800 towards his care.
