Lifeboat in lunchtime operation

by isleofman.com 28th June 2011

Douglas lifeboat was launched just before midday today (Tuesday).

The Sir William Hillary went to the aid of a fishing vessel, the Aztec, after a 45-year-old crew member reported chest pains and collapsed on deck.

An RAF rescue helicopter was also scrambled and landed at Noble's Hospital shortly before lunchtime.

Cox of Douglas lifeboat, Greg Coates, explained what happened:

The lifeboat returned to Douglas harbour at around 1.15pm.

No details have yet been released regarding the condition of the crewman.
