THE Isle of Man kicked off their Group B matches on Sunday with a tough encounter against Guernsey.

In five best of five matches (three mens and two womens) Guernsey won 5-0 although Robin Crease and Malcolm Levy both managed to take a game from their opponents.

In their second game of the day the Manx team went down 2-3 to Gibraltar.

Ashley Sandsord-Sykes won 3-2 and Laura Smith took an impressive 3-0 win (11/5, 11/0, 11/3).

Lindsey Tickell also did well taking a game from her opponent.

In the third group match, also on Sunday, the Isle of Man lost out 1-4 to the Cayman Islands with Mike Hayler putting in an impressive performance coming from two games down to win 3-2.
