A NUMBER of extra feeding stations and toilet facilities have been introduced for this year’s Scottish Widows Parish Walk, to help cope with the record entry.
The majority of the stations are in the first 32.5 miles between the start and Peel where more than 1,000 are expected to cross the line before the cut-off time of 5pm.
Sponsors of the feeding stations include Paragon, Energy FM, Wooden Spoon, Hospice, Rushen Round Table, Hamblin, Green Mann Spring, Intersport, KPMG, Mann Vend, Up and Running, Shoprite, 3FM and Barclays Wealth.
There are also a number of new toilet facilities for this year’s event, with the majority again being in the earlier stages of the walk to cope with the large numbers of walkers.
