THE Isle of Man Special Olympics squad is in Athens to represent the Island in the Olympics World Summer Games.
42 athletes and coaches left the Island for Greece on Sunday and will return on Tynwald Day in July.
The Special Olympics Games is the largest sporting event being held globally during 2011 and will see more than 7,000 athletes from over 170 countries around the world competing.
Manx athletes, all of whom have intellectual disabilities of some description, will participate in aquatics, athletics, badminton, cycling, bocce, golf, football, gymnastics and equestrian sports.
The Special Olympics provides sports for all people with an intellectual disability regardless of their skill level.
Royal London 360° has supported the athletes by providing wheeled kit bags for them to transport their clothing and sporting equipment on their trip.
Natalie Hall, head of marketing at Royal London 360°, said: "All of the Manx athletes competing in the Special Olympics World Summer Games need to take a large amount of kit and equipment with them to Athens and we are only too happy to provide them with specialist bags to allow them to do that.
"I wish every athlete the best of luck and am confident they will bring some medals back with them when they return to the Island in July."
