Members' scheme next for pensions scrutiny

With the public sector pensions debate all but over, Chief Minister Tony Brown says next on the list are pensions for politicians.

Yesterday (Wednesday) in Tynwald, the court backed the new unified pension scheme for public sector workers, with the changes coming into effect in April next year.

It means public servants will contribute more to their pension fund, which the government says will avoid spiralling costs.

And, after criticism from some unions over the Tynwald members' pension scheme, Mr Brown says that will now be looked at:
