LVP man relishes party involvement

A Liberal Vannin candidate in September's general election says he is attracted by the prospect of lining up behind a set of party policies.

Pat Ayres is challenging minister Eddie Teare for the Keys seat of Ayre in the far north of the Island.

Mr Ayres says his experience as a local authority member in England has given him the grounding he needs to enter Manx national politics.

He joined the LVP in 2006.

On Manx Radio's Talking Heads, Stu Peters asked him whether he would have fought the election as an independent if the party hadn't selected him as its candidate:
