Peel candidate suggests next chief minister

by isleofman.com 22nd June 2011

Voters would make the right choice if they were allowed to decide who became the Isle of Man's chief minister.

That's the belief of a member of the Positive Action Group who is standing in the constituency of Peel in September's general election.

Roger Gimbert is a former chairman of the town's commissioners and was an unsuccessful candidate in the general election in 2006.

He believes people need both local and national representation and should be able to vote for who they want to have the top job in Manx politics.

On Mandate he told John Moss who he had in mind (listen to attached audio file):

So far only two people have confirmed they will be standing in Peel, the other one being Mr Gimbert's fellow commissioner Raymond Harmer.
