TWO Commonwealth nations have pulled out of attending this year's Commonwealth Youth Games.
Norfolk Island and Vanuatu will not be represented at the games which are being hosted in the Isle of Man in September.
71 nations had been scheduled to attend the games which take place between September 7 and 13.
Norfolk Island, a small island in the Pacific Ocean located between Australia, New Zealand and New Caledonia, dropped out as there are no athletes available to represent the nation.
Vanuatu, an archipelago of 83 Islands which are located in the south of the Pacific Ocean near Australia, Fiji and south of the Solomon Islands, dropped out due to other sporting commitments.
A spokesperson for the Commonwealth Youth Games committee said that there would be no knock on effect from the two nations withdrawing from the games and that the places reserved for athletes from the nations will now be re-allocated to other nations.
