A NEW director has been appointed at the International Business School in what education chiefs are calling a "temporary measure".
Dr Jacqueline Yates, the head of learning at the Department of Health's Keyll Darree education and training centre, has taken over the role from Professor Gerald Watts who was appointed into the position in 2009.
This follows the news that the school overspent its agreed budget in the last financial year by almost £320,000 – something revealed by the Education and Children Minister, Eddie Teare MHK, in the House of Keys last month.
An investigation is currently being carried out but the Department of Education and Children has said all courses and activities are running at the International Business School as usual.
Today a spokesperson for the Department of Education and Children said: "It is inappropriate for us to comment on staffing matters. However we can confirm that Dr Jacqueline Yates is, with effect from this week, acting as director of the International Business School as a temporary measure."
