BISHOP Robert Paterson has announced the appointments of two clergy to posts in the Island.
The Reverend Clive Burgess will take up the post of priest in charge of the parish of St Peter Onchan.
Reverend Burgess grew up in Essex and prior to ordination was involved in the theatre working in the West End.
Following this he was the head of department at the company Angels which provided costumes for films and TV, media and theatre. He also worked on some of the James Bond movies and the Sharpe television series.
Following training at Trinity theological college in Bristol he was ordained at Chester Cathedral in 2000 and served as curate in Birkenhead from 2003.
He took up the post of vicar of Brewood and Bishop's Wood - two rural/commuter villages in south Staffordshire - and is presently Rector of The Bentham's - two villages on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales - as well as being rural mission officer for the Bradford diocese.
Reverend Jo Dudley has been appointed to be priest in charge of Laxey and Lonan.
Reverend Dudley lives in Copford in Essex and has served for over 30 years in the Essex Police Force.
She is presently a self supporting associate priest at Tolleshunt Knights, St Luke's, Tiptree with All Saints, Great Braxted after training for the Ministry studying on the East Anglian ministerial training course.
Throughout her career she has also served as a school governor, church warden and PCC member.
Both appointments will be taken up at the end of summer.
