Huge demand for TT3D:Closer to the Edge film

by isleofman.com 20th June 2011

A TOTAL of 12,569 tickets have been sold for the film TT3D: Closer to the Edge.

Since April 22 the film has been screened at least once a day at the Broadway Cinema in The Villa Marina.

5,000 tickets were sold during the TT fortnight when increased demand for the film led to it being shown three times a day.

Community, Culture and Leisure Minister David Cretney MHK said: "TT3D: Closer to the Edge is one of the most successful films to be shown at the Broadway Cinema beating The King's Speech in terms of audience numbers.

"There have been 64 sell-out screenings and no apparent slowdown in sales since its run started two months ago. I am thrilled because it is a tremendous documentary that captures the excitement and uniqueness of the TT."

A decision on whether the film will continue its run beyond Thursday will be made early this week. Until then it is being shown at 7.30pm each night and at 2.30pm on Wednesday.

Tickets cost £8 for adults and £6 for under 16s. Tickets can be booked by calling the Box Office on 01624 600555 or at the Welcome Centre at The Sea Terminal in Douglas.
