Ministers to hear about wind farm proposals

Three Manx government ministers are in London today (Monday), to hear suggestions that Ireland could be the answer to the United Kingdom's renewable energy commitments.

The possibility of a series of wind farms on the west coast of Ireland, with a cable bringing the power to the UK, is being discussed at a meeting of the British Irish Council.

Listening will be Chief Minister Tony Brown, Treasury Minister Anne Craine and Environment Minister John Shimmin.

The Isle of Man has an electricity interconnector to Blackpool and Mr Brown was asked how significant its role could be:
