THIS is the line up for this year's Yn Chruinnaght inter-Celtic festival.

 

Monday, July 18
Yn Chruinnaght in conjunction with the Department of Community, Culture and Leisure present Scottish super group Capercaillie at the Villa Marina at 8pm. Tickets £16: www.villagaiety.com


Tuesday, July 19
Ian O'Leary Lecture on Welsh music and instruments by Cass Meurig, at Ramsey Town Hall from 7.30pm to 9pm. Admission is free. 

 

Singing session at The Brittania Hotel led by Cliogaree Twoaie, Ramsey from 9pm. Admission is free.


Wednesday, July 20
Breton Dance Night featuring Landat-Moisson (Brittany), Ny Fennee (Isle Of Man ), Mo Chara (Ireland) and The Whitehouse Experience (IOM) in Ramsey Masonic Hall from 8pm. Tickets £5 or £3 for concessions.
 

Thursday, July 21
Yn Chruinnaght bite-sized Mo Chara 15 minute gigs, House of Manannan, from 1pm. Admission is free.

 

Celtic Music in St Johns Church featuring Breton duo Landat-Moisson, Welsh crwth and fiddle player, Cass Meurig and many more. From 7.30pm. Admission is free.


Friday, July 22
Yn Chruinnaght bite-sized: Mo Chara 15 minute gigs, House of Manannan, from 1pm. Admission is free.

 

Singing in Chains: the art of Welsh poetry - a talk by Dr Mererid Hopwood, Atholl Room, Centenary Centre in Peel. Starting at 6pm admission is free.

 

Dazzling Irish group Guidewires in concert at the Centenary Centre, Peel. Starts at 8pm. Tickets cost £12.50 or £7.50 for concessions.


Saturday, July 23

Dance displays and workshops in Douglas (St Matthews Church Hall, North Quay and Promenade) from 12pm. Admission is free.

 

Youth music session with Mo Chara at Douglas Youth Centre at 3pm. Admission is free.

 

Uilleann pipe beginners' workshop with Mo Chara at Douglas Masonic Hall at 6pm. Admission is free. 

 

Giant ceili featuring Kemysk, Shoostring and Tarroo Marroo at Douglas Masonic Hall at 8pm. Tickets cost £6 or £4 for concessions.


Sunday, July 24

Mooragh Park displays from 2pm to 4pm featuring dancers Kemysk, Shoostring and Ny Fennee and Ellan Vannin Pipes and Drums. Admission is free.

 

Scottish Gaelic song and music from the Maeve MacKinnon Trio in concert at the Centenary Centre in Peel at 8pm. Tickets cost £12.50 or £7.50 for concessions.
