Portuguese debut for former Ramsey player

by isleofman.com 16th June 2011

A former player of the year at Ramsey Rugby Club has become a full international, for Portugal.

Mike Dias played for the northern side in the 2007/08 season, winning the award at the end of it before heading off to university in Cardiff.

Mike made his full international debut for Portugal last night in the IRB Nations Cup against Namibia.

Manx Radio's rugby correspondent Dave Christian reports that Mike’s work down the left set up a try for Portugal, who lost out 29-23 in a hugely entertaining game, which was shown live on British Eurosport.

Their next game is on Sunday against the South African Kings.
