Douglas MHK to defend seat

by isleofman.com 15th June 2011

North Douglas MHK Bill Henderson will be seeking re-election to the House of Keys in September.

He has served the constituency since 1998 and says there are many local issues which need to be followed up and finished.

He also hopes to continue his work in the Keys and Tynwald on what he calls 'immense national issues', about which he feels 'deeply passionately'.

Mr Henderson believes he has covered a large amount of political ground in the last five years, on issues such as the Reciprocal Health Agreement and the so called 'VAT bombshell'.

He says the Isle of Man needs to be robust when dealing with Whitehall and on the European stage, and encourage growth in the economy.

Mr Henderson says it has been an honour to serve the people of North Douglas, and 'the work must go on!'
