THE Island's director of civil aviation will step down from his role within the Department of Economic Development in August.
Brian Johnson will leave his full time post but says he will remain commited to the Isle of Man Aircraft Registry by continuing in an "advisory capacity".
The Isle of Man Aircraft Registery is the eighth largest business jet register in the world according to the annual global book of business aircraft from Flightglobal. It has registered 375 aircraft since it started in 2007 including airliner variants produced by Boeing and Airbus. There are more than 30 private and corporate jets currently being processed for registration.
Brian said: "I have gained a huge amount of personal and professional satisfaction from developing the Isle of Man Aircraft Registry from its inception just over four years ago to its current status by having built a highly successful team.
"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as director of civil aviation in the Isle of Man and whilst I am looking forward to new challenges I will greatly miss the teams I have worked with and the many fantastic clients I have had the pleasure to meet."
Economic Development Minister Allan Bell MHK said: "Brian has been instrumental in creating a hugely successful and well-regulated and managed operation which is highly respected in the industry and indeed the world. We thank him for his contribution and support for the aircraft registry which continues to go from strength to strength."
