'Question Time' for Ballakermeen students

by isleofman.com 15th June 2011

BALLAKERMEEN High School sixth form students will have an opportunity to quiz government ministers and House of Keys candidates in the run up to the general election.

An event based on the format of BBC's Question Time will take place in the Sixth Form Lecture Theatre on July 8.

The panel will feature Education and Children Minister Eddie Teare MHK, Environment, Food and Agriculture Minister John Shimmin MHK, department member for Home Affairs and Social Care Bill Malarkey MHK, director of Paragon HR and recruitment consultant Debbie Harris and head boy at Ballakermeen Rory O'Shea.

They will all answer questions from sixth formers.

The event will be chaired by Manx Radio's Roger Watterson and the session will be recorded for the station's Talking Heads programme.

There will be another question and answer session in September featuring election candidates.

The House of Keys general election takes place on September 29.
