POLICE are appealing for information after candles were broken and offensive phrases were written inside St Patrick's Church in Patrick Street, Peel.

The damage was caused between 1.15pm and 7pm on Thursday, June 9.

PC Stephen Giddins from the Western Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "It would be a shame to have to close the church during the day but this type of vandalism cannot be allowed to continue."
