by isleofman.com 14th June 2011

THE Income Tax Division has published a public response document called Proposed Introduction of a Compulsory Online Tax Regime for Isle of Man Employers.

The proposals have been approved by Treasury and are timetabled to be introduced on April 6 next year.

Employers with more than 100 employees will be required to use Online Employer Tax Services from this date and employers with 10 or more employees will use the service from April 6 2013.

Compulsory use of Online Employer Tax Services will be introduced for all other employers from April 6 2014.

There will be a number of criteria which will be considered as automatic grounds for exemption from the compulsory use of Online Employer Tax Services.

In addition the assessor will also consider any reasonable request from an employer who considers that they should be exempt from the compulsory use of Online Employer Tax Services.

The full response document can be found on the Income Tax Division's website www.gov.im/incometax.
