Morton Valence to play Centenary Centre

by isleofman.com 16th June 2011

THE band Morton Valence will be performing at the Centenary Centre in Peel this Saturday (June 18).

The group features Robert 'Hacker' Jessett on vocals, guitars, trumpet and harmonica, Anne Gilpin on vocals and keyboards, Leo Fernandez on bass, Alejo Palaez on keyboards, lap steel guitar and electronics and Daryl Holley on drums.

The Centenary Centre website states: "Radio 2 record of the week favourites Morton Valence deliver hook-rich electro-pop soaked in Cabaret-era decadence with an occasional haunting breeze of C & W to enrich the mix, and a sensational live show to match.

"Just back from the USA, we're delighted to host the mighty Morton Valence before they embark on their European tour.

"The band's debut album, Bob and Veronica Ride Again has picked up rave reviews, and they’ll be unveiling their breathtaking new album Me And Home James here on the Island. Please do not miss this one!"

Tickets are £10 and are available from Thompson Travel, Port Erin, Celtic Gold, Peel, Peter Norris Music, Douglas, Mostly Manx, Douglas, Shakti Man, Ramsey or on the door, if not sold out.
