A MANX cheese has won a silver award for dairy innovation at the National Cheese Awards.

The Isle of Man Creamery's Druidale cheese with mango and pineapple was awarded the accolade at the awards which were held at the Royal Bath and West Show in Somerset on June 2.

A panel of guest judges voted on the 851 entries which were received from all over the world in 67 categories.

Findlay Macleod, managing director at the Isle of Man Creamery, said: "We are absolutely delighted that Druidale cheese with mango and pineapple has already started winning awards.

"Our milky and crumbly new recipe Druidale cheese is perfect for blending with fruit and our cheesemakers have done a great job in producing this delicious award winning cheese."
