Improvements to northern town under way

by isleofman.com 13th June 2011

The first phase of Ramsey regeneration begins today (Monday).

It’s hoped the work, which will start in Old Post Office Lane before moving onto Collins Lane, will vastly improve pedestrian access between Parliament Street and the quayside.

A regeneration grant will also help property owners in the area to paint and upgrade them.

Plans to improve the squares at the Courthouse and Market Place have also been submitted.

Chairman of the town's regeneration committee Allan Bell MHK says residents and visitors want a vibrant heart for Ramsey and changes are being pushed forward.
