Compensation considered for car parks

Douglas Council is in discussions over possible compensation from the supplier of the recently installed barrier systems at its car parks.

The conversion from 'pay and display' was blighted by a series of 'teething troubles', which Works Committee chairman David Ashcroft says were frustrating and extremely disappointing.

He says the requirements were clearly set out but a number of basic functions simply didn't work.

The shortcomings caused a range of problems for users of the car parks and took about a week to put right:
