Marshals collect for charities

by isleofman.com 11th June 2011

Marshals have raised over ?1,500 for mainly local charities from bucket collections at Creg-ny-Baa during TT fortnight.

It's the third year fans at the famous landmark have been asked to dip into their pockets at the TT and Manx Grand Prix, and in that time a total of over ?6,000 has been handed over.

The money from TT 2011 has already been distributed, with around ?400 going to Manx Radio's Dream Catcher appeal, ?260 to the Joey Dunlop Foundation, ?400 to the Rob Vine Fund and ?430 to Cancer Research UK.

About ten marshals were involved in the fund raising effort, and they will be at it again at Tynwald Day at St John's on July 5th.
