FIVE-time motorcycling Grand Prix world champion Mick Doohan will unveil a new watch collection in Douglas today.

Mick, who won five consecutive 500cc world championships in the 1990s (now known as MotoGP) will be at Wilkins Jewellers in Strand Street from 4.30pm.

The popular Australian rider will be showcasing his new TW Steel limited edition watch collection and fans are able to have photographs taken with him and get his autograph.

Speaking at a launch event in Amsterdam Mick said: "This is a great project for me to be involved in and a great brand to represent.

"I've followed TW Steel with interest due to their involvement in motorsport and I obviously jumped at the chance to work with them on a special edition when the opportunity presented itself.

"I loved the fact they were responsive to my comments on the design and I'm proud to put my name on a watch that is visually strong, well built and ultimately affordable."

Mick's watches feature a steel sandblasted matt case with PVD dark titanium plating which is off-set with steel screws on the bezel. A grey dial features Doohan's name and the numbers and second hand stand out in red. The watches also include a Miyota OS25 chronograph movement, measuring time accurate to 1/20th of a second.

The signing at Wilkins Jewellers will take place from 4.30pm to 6.30pm.
