A PUBLIC inquiry into the area plan for the south of the Island has been deferred.
The inquiry was due to start on July 6 but is now provisionally expected to start on October 3.
The delay has been caused due to the appointed inspector, David Hollis, having surgery and therefore needing time after it to recuperate.
He has offered his "sincere apologies" for the delay.
The new date will be confirmed as soon as possible. Parties have been advised that they should still adhere to the date set at the inquiry meeting for the submission of evidence which is 5pm today.
