Anger over eating restriction at show

A local confectioner plans to boycott next month's Southern Agricultural Show because of what he believes are unfair rules.

Organisers say people buying items from the Manx food producers' marquee won't be allowed to eat them on the show field.

The show's committee says the idea is to avoid conflict with other caterers who will be paying more for their pitches at the Great Meadow event.

Peter Birch, the owner of the Original Manx Fudge Factory, says the rules don't support smaller local producers:
