LOCAL IT services provider Skanco will provide the IT hardware for the Commonwealth Youth Games in September.
The company will provide the facilities required to ensure simultaneous reporting of results across all of the Island's sporting venues including the NSC, Villa Marina and The Bowl.
Skanco will also provide free laptops and printers for the volunteers and free support and maintenance.
David Butterworth, managing director of Skanco, said: "We are very excited about the games and are proud to be playing our part. For years we have focussed on supporting local sport and youth projects so this was an obvious sponsorship opportunity for us.
"As this is an event that requires real time results we will have engineers on call to ensure nothing goes wrong during the games. As a company we are well suited to dealing with this sort of large, demanding project because of the high number of engineers in our technical team."
Mike Henthorn, the sponsorship co-ordinator for the Games, said: "A number of companies have come together to support this important sporting event in different ways including Skanco.
"Obviously the administration and the results service are both hugely important to the games' success and we are extremely grateful that Skanco has taken them on.
"They have an impressive reputation for quality service and a huge technical capacity, both in terms of staff numbers and knowledge, so we feel safe having them on board."
The Commonwealth Youth Games take place between September 7 and September 13.
