by isleofman.com 7th June 2011

TT fans have the opportunity to purchase an actual piece of the Mountain Course.

Isle of Man Stamps and Coins has packaged up pieces of tarmac taken from Ballaugh Bridge and put them on sale at the TT Post Shop at the Grandstand.

The 'Get the Hump' gift is priced at £3 and is available in a range of presentation styles featuring seven great TT legends – Joey Dunlop, Guy Martin, Conor Cummins, Ian Hutchinson, John McGuinness, Cameron Donald and Klaus Klaffenbock.

The tarmac has been endorsed and verified as genuine TT tarmac on the reverse of the pack by the Island's director of highways Richard Pearson.

Dot Tilbury, general manager of Isle of Man Stamps and Coins, said: "This quirky TT gift is selling like hot tar and race fans from all over the world are excited about being able to take a small piece of the most famous motorsport course in the world home with them as a lasting souvenir of their visit.

"Think back to all the great moments in TT history which have taken place on this iconic bridge with riders and machines flying through the air, gasps of excitement from the assembled TT fans as the front wheel touches the tarmac ready to line up to make a right and quick left out through the village onwards to Ballacrye."

The TT Post Shop at the Grandstand is open from 9am everyday until Friday, June 10.
