Noble's Park in Douglas will be the venue as the first known aeroplane flight from the Isle of Man is commemorated on July 4.
The plane took off from the park and Douglas Borough Council, which owns the public open space, has agreed to a request from an aviation enthusiast to mark the anniversary with a commemorative plaque.
The North American Manx Association has donated six hundred dollars towards the cost, and the crew of the space shuttle Discovery, who will be on the Island for the annual open air Tynwald, have been invited along.
Chairman of the council's Leisure Service Committee Stephen Pitts says it's a significant event, but details of the flight itself are scant:
