A BIKER has died after a road traffic collision near to the Fairy Bridge last night (Monday).

The rider received fatal injuries after their red Yamaha motorcycle and a black Alfa Romeo Guilietta car collided.

It happened at approximately 7.55pm on the main Douglas to Ballasalla road in Santon.

Police closed the road for five hours while they conducted enquiries at the scene.

The occupants of the Alfa Romeo were unhurt.

The rider's identity will not be released until the next of kin have been informed and a formal identification has been conducted. The Coroner of Inquests has been informed.
