ANOTHER motorcyclist has suffered serious injuries after a road traffic collision in Castletown today.

The collision happened at approximately 8.55am today (Monday) near to Church Bends on Malew Road.

The bike involved was a black Yamaha R1 motorcycle. No other vehicles were involved.

Police closed the road for four hours while they conducted enquiries at the scene.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact Police Headquarters on 01624 631212.

They would also like to hear from the driver of a dark coloured 4x4 vehicle who may have travelled along Malew Road around the time of the collision.

This weekend the Roads Policing Unit issued a warning to motorists to drive with care. Inspector Mark Britton said: "I have already issued stark warnings this week about the dangers presented by not using the roads of the Island with respect."
