A member of Douglas Borough Council's Public Health and Housing Committee faces a court order, after failing to carry out repairs to her home.
The Government's Office of Environmental Health issued a nuisance abatement notice against Helen Callow, after a neighbour in an adjoining property complained of penetrating damp.
In addition, the committee has recently been told the roof of Mrs Callow's house in Selborne Drive, Douglas may be in a dangerous condition.
Chair of the committee Carol Malarkey says a court order is now being issued, requiring the necessary works to be carried out (listen to audio file below):
Mrs Callow has been told she may be eligible for grants in relation to the work.
In an unrelated case, the council dropped charges against Mrs Callow in March last year.
It was acknowledged in court that she had carried out work on her house to restore it from a dilapidated state.
