Three-in-a-row sidecar victories for Klaus Klaffenbock at the Isle of Man TT

by isleofman.com 4th June 2011

KLAUS Klaffenbock made it three wins in a row at the Isle of Man TT this afternoon when he rode to victory in the first Sure sidecar TT,

With passenger Dan Sayle - notching up his 7th win as a sidecar passenger - Klaffenbock was delighted with his victory, leading from start to finish.

“It’s great, absolutely great,” he said. “It was a very good race, not just against the clock. It was also a race on the road and it was just great.”

Klaffenbock fought a fantastic battle on the roads for the majority of the three lap race against eventual second winner John Holden and Andy Winkle. The two crews overtook each other numerous times on the course, with the passengers thoroughly enjoying the experience, exchanging “hand signals” as they blasted across the Mountain Course.

“We struggled with the speed and were resigned to do the best we could,” said Holden, recording his 5th runner up place. “We expected Klaffy to catch us and then we just tucked in behind him.

“It was the fastest race we’ve ever had and we’re really pleased. It was a great race and I’m sure the spectators will have enjoyed it too.”

Third place went to a delighted Conrad Harrison with passenger Mike Aylott who just pipped Tim Reeves/Greg Chase (600 MR Equipe Honda) for the podium spot. Aylott also continued his unique record of finishing every sidecar TT in which he has started.
