Council moves to protect memorial

Special arrangements are being made to ensure there is no repeat of incidents in which TT revellers have reportedly abused the War Memorial on Douglas promenade.

Last year Douglas Borough Council was given photographs of people climbing the structure and standing among the vases of flowers at its base.

To prevent the same thing happening again, fencing is being positioned around the memorial, and access to it will be limited to the period from 8am to 8pm.
