President decides not to seek a further term

The president of Tynwald has announced he is to step down.

Noel Cringle informed his colleagues in the House of Keys and Legislative Council of the decision today (Friday).

Mr Cringle has been the figurehead of the Manx parliament for the past eleven years.

He says the decision not to seek a further term as president was a difficult one:
