by isleofman.com 3rd June 2011

AN exhibition showcasing the Island's support to Oxfam in the developing world is now open at the Tynwald Library.

It is highlighting the global work of Oxfam with a particular focus on projects that have benefited from support from the Isle of Man.

These include helping more than 40,000 families in India survive and recover from the floods of 2008, a healthcare and sanitation programme in the Philippines, creating children’s centres and training care-givers in Malawi to combat HIV and AIDS and providing access to clean water in Zambia through the construction of boreholes.

The exhibition will run for four weeks and is located in the Tynwald Library on the ground floor of the Legislative Buildings in Finch Road. It is open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.

Oxfam information packs and displays of Traidcraft products will be available to purchase from the Oxfam shop at 10, Castle Street in Douglas from 9am to 5pm on Monday to Saturday.
