by isleofman.com 1st June 2011

The internet's biggest auctioneer has told the United Kingdom communications regulator Ofcom the Isle of Man spends 20 per cent less on online shopping because of the state of mobile broadband.

Research carried out on eBay's behalf says the UK's mobile broadband network is depriving Britain of ?1.3 billion.

The report claims 16 per cent of locations in Britain are 'not-spots', or places where it's impossible to complete a mobile transaction.

The report says the Outer Hebrides, the Isle of Man and Jersey spend 20 per cent less through their mobiles than the national average.
