Safety seminar for scaffolders

by isleofman.com 1st June 2011

A workshop on scaffolding safety is being held later this month.

It's being arranged by the Isle of Man Employers' Federation and the government's Health and Safety Inspectorate, with the aim of preventing accidents.

Accidents involving scaffolding are among the most frequent in the construction industry, and there is particular concern because insecure structures over higways can pose a risk to the public.

The workshop is on Wednesday, June 29, at Keyll Darree next to Noble's Hospital, and is open to building contractors, scaffolders and any organisation which uses scaffolding.

Delegates will be given a certificate of proof that they attended, and an information pack with further guidance on the areas covered during the seminar.

Anyone interested in going can ring 660188 for further information.
