Visit to the Island for Institution of Diesel and Gas Turbine Engineers

by isleofman.com 1st June 2011

MEMBERS of the Institution of Diesel and Gas Turbine Engineers have travelled from the British Isles and Europe to visit the power plant at Pulrose.

The delegates met with their Manx Electricity Authority counterparts at the facility in Pulrose last month.

Alan Cubbon, generation manager for the Manx Electricity Authority, said: "Institute Members were extremely impressed with the facility at Pulrose and the exemplary way in which it is maintained by the team which is high praise indeed and excellent recognition for us all.

"Indeed they were very complimentary about the Island also and managed to enjoy some free time visiting the likes of Laxey Wheel and Douglas Horse Trams."

The Institution of Diesel and Gas Turbine Engineers has branches in Canada and the Middle East and North Africa.
