Biaggi denies causing World Superbike collision

by isleofman.com 1st June 2011

REIGNING World Superbike champion Max Biaggi has denied he was to blame for the collision between himself and Jonathan Rea which led to them both crashing out of the first race at Miller Motorsports Park in America on Monday.

Castletown resident Rea had earlier blamed Italian rider Biaggi for the first lap incident at the circuit near Salt Lake City.

He had said: "On the first lap of that one, I was the victim of a very intimidating attempt at a pass that went wrong and we both fell down."

However, writing on his official website Max, who rides for the factory Aprilia team, said he wasn't at fault.

He said: "I have overlooked the incident because it was fairly obvious how the fall happened.

"But after reading here and there, it would seem that Rea thinks he was right and that I caused his crash...crazy stuff!

"However, I feel to give him a suggestion, hopefully he will accept it: 'Sometimes recognise your mistakes makes you grow and makes you be estimated also by your colleagues.'"
