THE Drumgold Street car park in Douglas will be open until 11pm during TT race week.

The extended hours will be in place from this Friday until Sunday, June 12.

The car park usually opens from 8am until 8pm.

Even though the car park will be open later the toilets will be closed from 7pm and any cars left in the car park after 11pm will have to be recovered the following day.

The toilets will be open until 11pm at the Chester Street car park in Douglas where there is 24 hour parking.

Tim Crookall MHK, political member for the properties division of the Department of Infrastructure, said: "Last year we trialed late night opening in the car parks during the TT period in an attempt to alleviate pressure elsewhere in Douglas and saw a considerable take up of spaces.

"We are pleased to be able to keep the facilities open later again this year."
