by isleofman.com 27th May 2011

THE one-way system on the TT Mountain Road comes into effect tomorrow (Saturday May 28) of the TT course between Ramsey Hairpin and the Creg ny Baa.

The roads will close at 10am and then re-open later in the day as a one-way system, which will operate in the Ramsey-Douglas direction throughout the TT period and end on Monday June 13.

The road will close to all traffic at 10am on June 13 and then re-open as a normal two-way traffic system in the afternoon when more than 1,400 traffic cones will have been placed on the 9.5 miles stretch as traffic-calming measures.

Traffic cones will be most clearly in evidence at The Hairpin, Waterworks, The Bungalow, Keppel Gate and Creg ny Baa.

The Mountain Road from Ramsey Hairpin to the Creg-ny-Baa will close one hour before the rest of the TT course for practice sessions and 30 minutes before the rest of the TT course for races. It will remain closed after the completion of practices and races for up to one hour after the rest of the TT course.

TT practice sessions will be held from Monday May 30 to Friday June 3 at 6pm each evening, ending no later than 9.30pm. The Mountain Road from Ramsey Hairpin to the Creg-ny-Baa will close at 5pm on each of these days and re-open up to one hour after the rest of the course (no later than 10.30pm).
