Several Manx beaches have again failed to meet legal bathing water quality standards because of raw sewage being released into the sea.
That's the conclusion of the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture, after Peel, Laxey and Gansey Bay were among the locations failing to meet the acceptable European grade in the Marine Conservation Society's annual report.
Only Derbyhaven beach is recommended for swimming in the organisation's 2011 Good Beach Guide, with twelve others around the Island gaining a basic pass.
