THE Regency Hotel has been awarded a silver accolade by Quality in Tourism.
The award has demonstrated that the hotel has exceeded expectations in both the comfort and cleanliness in bedrooms and bathrooms and in terms of service and hospitality.
Quality in Tourism is the independent body contracted by Isle of Man Tourism to award the independent grading. The body adhere to national standards known as the National Quality Assessment Scheme (NQAS) and work in conjunction with Visit Britain.
The scheme awards properties gold and silver accolades to sit alongside their star ratings. An inspector anonymously visits the accommodation to evaluate the business and compiles a report about their experience.
Tim Baggaley, general manager at the Regency Hotel, said: "The Regency is delighted to receive a silver accolade and aims to cater for the discerning business and leisure guest to try and exceed their expectations."
Allan Bell MHK, Economic Development Minister, said: "A silver accolade is a tremendous achievement for the Regency Hotel which is due to their extremely hard work. I congratulate and wish to thank the management and staff for their dedication and the commitment they have given to the Island's tourism industry.
"It is important that we continue to work with the tourism industry in improving the Island's quality standards and facilities in line with the expectations of our visitors and I am pleased that all our highest achievers can be recognised by way of these prestigious accolades."
